Kathryn Collins

Kathryn Collins (she/her) is a Meanjin-based writer, director, and creative. She recently graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Drama and Writing, receiving a University Medal for her practice-based research in the field of Drama (Directing). Outside her formal studies, Kathryn has been featured most notably as a playwright and director in Underground Theatre’s Short Play Festival, and as a director in La Boite Theatre’s 2024 Assembly Program. As a consumer and creator, Kathryn is drawn to bold and affective storytelling, visual metaphor, and queer/feminist revision. She is endlessly intrigued by the weird things in our heads, the words we do and don't say, and the beauty and darkness co-existing in the spaces between people.
